of months. why shouldn't it continue. >>> and tony perkins joins us with the weather, and more maybe? >> no. just the weather. good morning. a warmish start to the day. mid-70s. so warmer than yesterday. and it will be another warm day today before we get cooler air working in here. currently 74 degrees in washington. 74 up in baltimore. 71 at dulles airport. fredericksberg, virginia, 75 degrees. and in frederick, maryland, 78 degrees. we were tracking some showers to the west. you can see how that breaks up into our viewing area so not much happening out this. some of you might see a brief sprinkle and that's a possibility but most of that has dissipated. here is your forecast for today. today is really a day of transition as a cold front begins to move through. don't really think of it as a cold front because it will still be warm today. 89 degrees. we have morning clouds. it will become sunny. winds shift out of the west at 15-20 miles per hour. 89 for the high. and then cooler air working in here tonight. i'll tell you more about that in a little bit. allison, back to you. >> tony, than

morning and thanks for being with us. i'm steve chenevey. >> and i'm allison seymour. at the start of the holiday weekend, we were talking about hurricane earl as its effects were being felt on the eastern shore. apart from rain and rough surf, the delmarva did not get hard- hit at all. but check out what earl did do in canada. this is video out of nova scotia. it brought down huge trees and lost power to a quarter million of people. it hit the maritime province as a category one. >> let's check in with tucker barnes for the forecast. >> the upper 70s and lower 80s and going to be the same today. let's get to it and talk about current conditions. and we're off to a cool start. 40s out there. look at winchester, 47 degrees. hagerstown, good morning to you, 51. 58 at dulles. 52 in frederick, 63 here in town. if you are lucky enough to be waking up at the shore, ocean city, 53. should be a great looking afternoon. bright sunshine expected throughout the day and high temperatures back in the middle 80s. there is a morning look at your satellite radar. very quiet conditions continue. a
